Our production philosophy is simple. We just ask ourselves what decision feels right. We place great value in knowledge, as knowledge creates an option to choose what’s best. And the best option is what leaves the least dirty traces behind. Traces like an abused child worker, chemical waste in the groundwater or cotton farmers that can’t afford medical care. We believe most people would agree. Unfortunately it’s taking quite some time for the worldwide textile industry to change. We’re optimists though, we believe change will pick up speed in the coming years and we’ll make sure to do our bit to make it happen.
We want to make clothes, but not at other peoples’ expense. So we decided to try to make them in a better way, to make the best decisions and use the best possible resources. And here we are, with our first project, and we’re proud to let you know how we produced it. We hope you’ll be proud to wear your piece.
The long sleeved t-shirts and the bowties from this project are made from the same fabric, an unbleached organic cotton jersey. We’ve bought the fabric through DEM Collective, a Swedish company that built their own textile factories in Sri Lanka, simply because they couldn’t find existing production that was good enough from an
The cotton used in all pieces, including the bag, is cultivated in the north of India and supplied by Agrocel, an organisation that helps small farmers to change traditional cultivation to organic. Their aim is to increase both the economical and environmental sustainability in the regions where they’re present.
We sew the garments in Sweden and dye them at Korallen AB in Borås, a family run company that works to minimize the impact on the environment without compromising on quality.
As production in the textile industry will always have an impact on the environment in several aspects, we do not claim to be flawless, but we assure you that we’ll always strive to improve. All our suppliers have websites where they explain their production in detail so if you’re interested in knowing more, just click below. If you’re not yet satisfied and need more answers, we´ll be happy to take your questions by email. We proudly guarantee to be transparent. Sincerely M. Weinholz.
